Welcome to Golem University!
This site is dedicated to those interested in learning how to use the Golem Studio program, one of the editing tools provided with Unreal 2.
Golem Studio (we'll just call it Golem from this point on) is the program used to create and edit .GEM files, which contain the animated meshes used in U2. Every animated mesh in the game, including those for characters and weapons, goes through Golem in order for it to be used in the game.
With Golem, you can import meshes and animations from other formats (such as PSK and PSA, the same intermediate skeletal mesh formats used by other Unreal engine games), create and edit animation scripts that use procedural effects, create animation selection agents, add solids and joints for ragdoll physics, and so on.
Golem University is organized as a series of small tutorial "courses" in working with Golem. To get started, head on over to the courses page!
